Super Junior's Donghae and SNSD's Seohyun Are UNICEF Special Envoys
Super Junior’s Donghae and SNSD’s Seohyun, who donated their talents in recording the digital single “Dreams Come True” for charity, were formally invested as international aid organization UNICEF’s special envoys. The ceremony took place in Seoul on October 11, which also marked the release date of their duet.
“I feel honored to have been appointed as a special envoy for the UNICEF,” Seohyun said. “I feel that we were appointed on behalf of other singers, and will commit to doing my duty towards promoting the UNICEF.”
Donghae said, “There are ways of helping children. Learn more through UNICEF, and how the small hand we extend can create greater happiness.”
He likewise expressed his commitment on his Twitter, uploading photos with Seohyun at the ceremony and containing the message “Being appointed by the UNICEF is an honor, and I hope I live up to the standards.”
The two singers also presented two dolls that they had personally decorated, bearing their names, “Lee Donghae” and “Seohyun.”
Donghae and Seohyun’s charity duet “Dreams Come True” is also the theme song of the 2011 Asia Song Festival. They will perform it live, along with other Festival singers to close the event at Daegu Stadium on October 15.
Meanwhile, “Dreams Come True” has gone on sale on music sites following Donghae and Seohyun’s appointment ceremony. All proceeds from the sale of the digital single will go towards the UNICEF programs to help children in famine-stricken East African countries.
